WHAT CAUSES FOAMING, HOW IT DAMAGES THE ENGINE?
Foaming occurs as a result of agitation in the crankcase with the continuous movement of the
vehicle and the oil hitting the surfaces inside the engine.
If there is no anti-foam additive in the engine oil or insufficient, the bubbles in the formed foam
will burst on any contact. Thus, metal friction starts, and wear begins.
The common foaming known is similar to cream or mayonnaise that occurs on the lid of the oil
pouring chamber. Not in this case. If water is mixed directly with the oil or if the oil vapor cannot
escape as in old technology vehicles and condenses in the temperature difference between
day and night, foaming occurs.
It is necessary to separate it from creaming and defoaming, which does not directly harm the
engine.
